Case Study 1: Teacher’s Training : Challenging in every way !

This was the first assignment for our Teacher’s Training programme The name of the school was Kalwa Hindi Medium High School and was located on the cliff right above the Parsik Railway Tunnel which happens to be just in the outskirts of Mumbai near Thane. The school was amidst a slum area and reaching there was a challenge in itself. Most of the students were children of hawkers, daily wage workers, vegetable vendors and from impoverish background. Ironically the school had an approved grant from the government and so some of the teaching staff was motivated monetarily more than the volition. Those employed on temporary basis were waiting in expectation. All in all there surely was  dedication but lacking direction and  motivation, a  limitation that was enough to damage the purpose of imparting education.

We were appointed by the acting Principal and so our training faced a resistance from the teachers to get trained. Firstly we were asked to prove ourselves in merit and even after that the teacher’s was given the option of attendance. Initially the teachers thought that we would give up coming regularly just because of the difficulty in reaching. That didn’t happen. We were very regular and visited twice a week.

By the end of the month there were signs of acceptance from the teachers and also some disciplinary actions were seen implemented in the school. The purpose of education starts regaining its position in the minds of the teachers. Slowly we were also invited in the classrooms to deal with difficult subject issues and sometimes disciplinary situations. Eventually we had made a manual for the school at the end of the course which could serve as a reference in future for typical situations. Unfortunately we had to stop during the Pandemic.

Case Study 2. : Teacher’s Training : Resolving discipline & management issues !

Yet another English and Marathi Medium High School and Junior College was located in a modest locality of Lokmanya Nagar in the area of Wagle Estate, Thane. This school had a mix of students from a stratum of the society ranging from poor background to modest one. The management was looking at issues regarding student discipline. The staff from either streams were blaming the students from the other one for causing damage to the school property as a result of indiscipline. The teaching staff had already given up and were complaining to the management. The management wanted a solution.

We, Maxreach Resources, took up this challenge and decided to resolve the issue. We were awarded with the assignment of the Teachers training programme for the English medium teachers. The participants initially perceived this training as an additional task apart from teaching. Slowly as we progressed the contents dealt with in our training began to drive their thoughts and action. They started sharing with us how their outlook towards normal life is becoming proactive and effective. The had started feeling empowered in general.

We carried out the entire programme and also awarded the participants with certificates. The discipline issue was resolved and now we shall soon be conducting this ASDEC programme for their Junior college staff and the vernacular medium too! We are soon designing an advanced course for the earlier batch.

Case Study 3. : Staff Training : Aligning with the goal of the Organisation !

This company was in the business of conducting trials for cosmetic products, edible products and other human application products that were to be manufactured by various companies which included market leaders, multinationals and startups as well. This agency is a Research facility with qualified chemists, post-graduates and also Doctorates (Ph.D) as their employees.

Our brief was to streamline the co-ordination among the research staff such that their efforts are aligned with the organizational goals.  We began with an orientation programme which was well received and then continued with over 20 sessions of our self-development modules.

Within weeks of our intervention the management reported positive signs of transformation among the participants. Our modules were well received and the mixture of classroom training, activities and movies was seen working very effectively for us as well the participants. We are now looking forward for conducting an advanced course for them.

The assignment turned out to be very effective and the management did give us credit for the same. Some of our testimonials are from the participants from this group.
